| Brake and Tire Contamination Alert
December 23, 2008
Today company Flight Safety Manager Ted Rogachuk issued a statement regarding recent events with another fractional operator blowing tires upon landing on three different aircraft. While the exact cause is still under investigation, his e-mail list the similarities of all three aircraft.
Pilots should be aware that the build up of slush and/or ice on the landing gear and brakes may affect braking performance upon landing. It is suggested that pilots delay gear retraction and/or cycle the gear after takeoff when departing from a contaminated surface. Pilots brief passengers accordingly should you elect to cycle the gear after departure.

"This agreement, while a significant accomplishment by itself, is simply a collection of pieces of paper covered with words and phrases if we don't understand and protect it. To be worthwhile the CBA must be vigorously enforced by the Union, which is you, the pilot group."
Capt. Mat Slinghoff, President IBT 1108
