We are part of the larger pilot union community. Pilot unions help one another. It is who we are, and it is what we do. The decerters call that “desperation,” but they don’t get it. Strong unions and collective bargaining protect the interests of all pilots across the industry. And, make no mistake, a non-union carrier will eventually drag down pay, benefits, safety and standards for everyone in a race to the bottom.
Despite all the noise, we are in the most favorable bargaining environment in the history of our profession. No matter who is managing our company at any given time, and regardless of the market, it is inconceivable that we would give up our leverage rather than use it to negotiate the contract that we and our families deserve. It just takes unity rather than division.
